POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Senior Communications Specialist will be responsible for multi-channel communications across stakeholder groups and businesses within Medtronic specifically for the Global Supply Chain Transformation Program. As the lead content organizer and developer of written/email spotlight communications, intranet homepage articles, website content, and all-employee announcements, this role will work across the program team to identify, develop, and publish meaningful content to highlight key progress, people, and outcomes from the program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handles the creation and implementation of multiple forms of internal strategic communication activities, programs and content guided by the Medtronic Mission and overall business strategy.
- Leads strategies, produces content, and organizes events to help align the organization’s goals in support of greater employee engagement and business impact.
- Generates comprehensive strategic plans that engage employees with the objectives, policies, Mission, and growth strategies of the company.
- Responsible for planning, storytelling, writing and editing to persuade, educate and inspire internal audiences to change behavior or understand the work environment.
- Supports senior leadership in communicating key change initiatives, policy changes and other company information to employees.
- As required, may possess strong change management communications capabilities and understanding of organizational dynamics and social psychology.

- Typically, an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty.
- Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.
- May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower-level professionals.
- The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects from design to implementation while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education (typically University).
REQUIRED QUALITIFCATIONS
- The ideal candidate will have experience developing communication strategies for strategic change initiatives, experience in different multimedia outlets, an intrinsically motivated self-starter, highly organized, and capable of internal web site (SharePoint) development for this effort.
- Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
- May have practical knowledge of project management.
- University Degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
