Position Summary
The temporary Senior Technical Writer will research, plan, organize, and develop technical product literature (such as user’s guides, IFUs, and product labels) by working closely with Engineering, Project and Program Management, Regulatory, Design Assurance, Quality, Training, Marketing, and Legal departments. The customers and clients for this technical literature include physicians, nurses, hospital technicians, as well as company sales, marketing, and technical support personnel. This individual will also manage translations of technical product literature.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Research, plan, write, edit, and coordinate the development of required product literature in the appropriate time frames for product launch and in compliance with company operating procedures and work instructions
- Update existing labels and technical literature
- Ensure that product literature is consistent, clear, technically accurate, complete, and meets regulatory, marketing, and branding requirements
- Commit to a scheduled completion date and inform management if schedule requires adjustment
- Support project teams by developing, communicating, and maintaining project estimates, schedules, and status
- Create and modify screen captures in required languages using Photoshop
- Organize and facilitate content and quality reviews of assigned user guides, IFUs, and labels
- Edit documents, making technically and stylistically appropriate modifications
- Other projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Requires Bachelors Degree
- Previous medical device experience required
- Strongly prefer a candidate who has experience working directly with labels, as well as with IFU and User Guide content
- Candidate must have a very strong knowledge of InDesign
- Candidate must be comfortable with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
- Candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, 8 hour work day within core business hours
